Halfway Home will be a 90-minute documentary shot on digital video following men and/or women transition from prison back into the community. We will discover the challenges and obstacles if any that led them to the choices they made that landed them in prison. They will visit old stomping grounds, try to avoid bad associations and habits that led to their downward spiral, and keep their appointments with their parolees. Weaving this together with still photographs, footage of prisons, court rooms, and scenes where the crimes were committed into a dramatic narrative. Later, they will be introduced to a life coach. The life coach will implement innovative exercises and opportunities to transform their lives as they embark to reinvent themselves, rebuild severed relationships, and gain employment during a slow economic recovery, swimming along individuals without a criminal record.
The journey will take place over the course of 4 weeks. Lastly, the life coach will do a follow up visit a few weeks later. The inquiries that will be expounded upon are: will they fight the process, will they welcome the challenges that lie ahead to benefit them as well as those set up for them to fail, or will they fall back into old habits.
