We plan to mount a staged reading of “Sweat” by Lynn Nottage. We then host a talkback with the artists and the audience after the performance. At Hand to Mouth we try to create an immersive and often times abstract space for the audience to see the theses of the play represented in the visual sense as well. These events turn into a kind of Salon, where artists of all kinds gather to hear a play read by professional actors. We really believe that the theater is most powerful when it brings communities together.
