Modular Opera Project (MOP), an initiative of Helios Opera was launched in August 2020 in response to the current inability of artists to rehearse and perform live due to the COVID-19 pandemic. MOP empowered singers to create digital premieres in their own homes by providing audio-visual training, professional equipment, and editing, marketing support, and artistic partnership. MOP productions are not live and never on Zoom; these carefully curated digital experiences sit at the intersection of opera and film, recreating the electricity of live performance through an intimacy and immediacy impossible to find in the grand opera house.
