Helios Opera is raising [$2,500] for our upcoming season, beginning with our digital premiere of Service Provider. This witty take on modern relationships, written by living artists John de los Santos and Christopher Weiss, examines the ways in which technology both enables and inhibits human connection. In February 2022, our season continues with a one-woman show created just for Helios by one of NYC’s most loved opera-singing drag queens, the Juilliard-trained Jasmine Rice Labeija. Jasmine’s piece drags the great soprano repertoire into a journey of love, loss, and queer empowerment. 

Your contribution will directly impact our mission to provide professional opportunities for artists during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. We will use these funds to pay our artists and production staff and to cover the costs of production itself.

Our donation tiers and perks are as follows:

Donations of $20 and under will get a personalized thank you on Helios’s social media pages.

Donations of $100 and under will grant donors two free tickets to our production.

Donations of $100 and up will be thanked with two free tickets, plus a personalized video from the cast or crew of our current production. 

Donations of $500 and up will get all of the perks for lower donation tiers plus a Helios water bottle.

Donations of $1000 and up will get all of the previous perks - a personalized thank you, two free tickets, a personalized video from the cast or crew, a water bottle, and a Helios tote bag!

If you haven’t heard of us, then let us tell you: this is not your typical opera experience. Helios has redefined opera for the contemporary age; our current Modular Opera Project initiative produces high-quality, accessible digital performances at the intersection of film and opera. Unlike traditional opera, our work is inclusive and designed to connect with a modern audience. 

We came on the scene in July 2020, when most major arts companies were shuttered and used our flexible, innovative model to produce digital programming that earned critical acclaim from The Boston Globe, The Houston Chronicle, and others.
