About

HIT MACHINE is a contemporary drama set in the high-stakes world of pop music, where two estranged brothers—one a powerful hitmaker, the other a gifted but unmoored musician—collide over family narrative, artistic legitimacy, and the cost of turning feeling into product. When a rising young artist enters the mix, the play becomes a volatile triangle about authorship, ambition, and the dangerous intimacy of collaboration. Starring Josh Radnor and Noah Galvin as brothers, with original music by Ben Harper, HIT MACHINE, will have it's world premiere at the Soho Theatre in London this summer.

We've been lucky enough to have been offered a 6 week slot at an incredible theatre in the heart of London but in order to make that happen we have to raise the funds to put the show up ourselves. Your donation will allow us to bring this very special piece of theatre to audiences for the first time, hopefully paving the way for future productions.

It's a play that deals with appropriation—where a song originates, the hands it travels through, and the cultural gatekeepers who convert art into currency. But it's also about collaboration, when it comes to art but, perhaps more importantly, when it comes to family. These two brothers are trying to collaborate on a song, but their desire to control one another gets in the way. Together they can make something transcendent, individually their skills only allow them to take the song so far.

The best creative acts are birthed collectively and a family sings when it releases the need to manage how love must be expressed or received; when each member focuses more on opening their own channels so love can flow back and forth the most freely. We hope these themes speak to you and thank you in advance for your support!
