The Hopewell Sound Lab is a community-driven non-profit program for high schoolers interested in creating original music with their peers. It offers opportunities to develop skills in writing, performing, and recording in a collaborative, supportive environment.
The Sound Lab is not a music school that offers traditional classes or lessons. It is a place where students follow their interests and learn what they want at their own pace. They can join a band, write songs, explore a new instrument, or share their love of music with their peers. All levels of musical experience and all styles of music are welcome.
Learning is facilitated by mentors with extensive musical training and experience who are available to answer questions, provide technical help, and offer creative suggestions if asked.
Once a month, all students are encouraged to attend a community session that offers opportunities to socialize and make friends through activities such as listening parties and jam sessions with peers, mentors, and guest musicians. At the end of the term, students who are interested can take part in a final performance.
