This grant provides crucial support at a critical juncture in my career, primarily funding the fall book tour for my recently released essay collection, How to Tell When We Will Die: On Pain, Disability, and Doom. This is the first time I'll be on tour for the book, which is an exciting opportunity to connect with its wide-reaching audience from the worlds of literature, disability justice activism, and art. Additionally, the tour includes a live performance in Berlin, at the prestigious HAU Theater, for the premiere showing of a work in progress, titled Fist, that is a visionary merging of theater and music, based on a new one-act play I've written and a body of new songs.
