FORGE is a boutique consulting agency grounded in the philosophy that how you work matters as much as why you create and what you want to make. We believe in the power of process, and in building the skills, systems, plans, and practices that will carry you not only through your next set of goals, but your life’s work as a creator.

We work with small arts companies and independent makers to take the next step in their our work through our consulting practice and creative placemaking. Our signature developmental retreats, FORGE Fuel and the Red Barn Residency are housed at the HOWARD TAUBMAN PLAYHOUSE.

Named for the famous 1960s New York Times Theater and Opera Critic, the HOWARD TAUBMAN PLAYHOUSE is a retreat and development site for the New York City’s arts community located in a rustic corner of Danbury, Connecticut. Set inside a reconfigured barn (with accommodations at the neighboring farmhouse), the HOWARD TAUBMAN PLAYHOUSE both provides accessible and low-cost opportunities for artists to focus on their projects away from the bustle of their urban lives, and enlivens the local communities of the Danbury, CT and Brewster NY with invited showings of works in progress.
