About

I AM AMERICA - A Little Backstory
In 2018, my daughter, age 16 at the time, had already been struggling with anorexia for several years. That summer things got very serious. She was admitted to the hospital in a very dangerous state. Organs beginning to fail. Her mental health in complete disarray. Scary. Because I do NOT want to make this a sob story, I will tell you up front that she is much, much better today - even thriving. Thanks to a lot of hard work ON HER PART, she has made an amazing recovery. We are so blessed. I AM SO PROUD OF HER.

But, when things were at their darkest for our family on a micro-level, we, as a national community, entered into a SHARED DARKNESS with the arrival of Covid-19. Covid and a general national mix of anger, fear, and anxiety has l eft a wake of unrest and depression. Many of us are questioning who we are as a community. IT SEEMS WE HAVE FORGOTTEN HOW AMAZING THIS PLACE IS.

Enter I AM AMERICA.

I MADE A DECISION.  I needed to do something, whatever I could, to help us heal - ME AND MY FAMILY ON A PERSONAL/MICRO LEVEL, AS WELL AS THE LARGER COMMUNITY ON MACRO LEVEL . I set out to use my skill set to remind us that we are, all of us, neighbors. to WORK TO bring some joy back into the world. I BEGAN BUILDING A YouTube Channel THAT WOULD PRODUCE uplifting, short documentaries about wonderful, positive, joyful PEOPLE, PASSIONS, and POSITIVITY from all over the country. It’s time we celebrate the good again. We have much more in common than we have differences.

FOLLOWING AN EXTENDED DEVELOPMENT PERIOD, We are in the midst of completing the first five episodes. in these episodes, We shine a light on an arts high school in Chicago. We celebrate the U.S. Pond Hockey Championships in Minnesota; a vocal ensemble in Seattle known in the region for their Christmas shows each year; Cruisin’ The Coast on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast; a silent movie theater and a wonderfully funky hotel in California. We have many more episodes in the PIPELINE.

Thank you. And remember..... Be good to each other.
