IN ON IT by Daniel MacIvor is an experimental, thought-provoking reflection of humanity, love, and relationships. Its examination love, loss, grief, courage, and listlessness is universal. It asks the question, “When are you going to start living your life?”
MacIvor describes the piece as “a spiraling narrative about a dying man trying to make plans for the end, a pair of lovers trying to make it work, and two men trying to make a play. A world where accidents happen. A story about control.” This is an incredible bareboned theatrical event. Theatre you can only see in the theatre. No set. Few props. Louis B. Hobson of the Calgary Herald said, “watching In On It is like taking your emotions to the gym for a noon workout.”
MacIvor is working with us on the script to "update" it for a 2022 world. The inaugural production of 2001 won a GLAAD award and an OBIE at PS122. The world has changed a lot in 21 years, specifically for those who identify as queer. We’re excited to continue to develop this beautiful play that never fully got it’s due because of 9/11.
