This is a proof of concept short film that takes place at the height of the Iran-Iraq War in 1988. It follows Caroline, a Persian-Jewish teenage girl, and the final car ride she takes with her father, Sharif, in the countryside of Iran before she is smuggled out of the country.
This is a story about the collective longing of not only the Iranian-Jewish people, but of all Diasporic people, who are uprooted from their homes and are confronted with what it means to say goodbye to your homeland.
In this tender father-daughter portrayal, we hope to show the small but profound ways in which people fight for joy in wartime.
Based on a true story. The story of Caroline, Ava's mother.
