Founded in Philly in 2023, IndependentSounds! is an annual festival of live opera and instrumental music designed to bring together life-long opera lovers and those seeing the art form for the very first time.
Opera is for everyone
Our core value at IndependentSounds! is that opera is for everyone: every age, every income, every race, every body type. We produce easily accessible bite-sized operas (1 hour max) so our audience can check it out and see if they enjoy it. Any show in a foreign language is presented with English translations.
Pedagogical mission
