About

Infinite Stage is an ensemble based company composed of musicians, performers, researchers, visual artists and writers. Our work is inter-disciplinary and multi-cultural. We focus on physical performance and visual images seen through the lens of individual characters. We often work in site-specific locations and galleries as well as traditional performance venues, actively engaging audience in our work. Currently we are creating American Voices: Uncovering the Mystery of the American Experience which will be performed at The Smithsonian Institute's National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC in April 2011. Using the gallery itself as the stage, the focus of American Voices is to gain insight and understanding of American identity through its History and Characters. Showcasing the personalities and ideas of the american experience will illuninate the historical connections that define and influence contemporary life. Understanding and embracing the diversity of our country will encourage us to become active participants in our lives and our communities. The creative team consists of core Infinite Stage members as well as Washington DC high school students and undergraduate students from the University of Maryland, College Park. Following American Voices, Infinite Stage will be presenting a performance installation piece The Journey: and exploration of Diaspora, which was created from interviews of immigrants living in the greater Washington DC area. Also in development is The Memory Project which explores the concept of legacy.
