Isthmus Theatre Collaborative produces seminally devised multimedia and site-specific compositions. While the company is based in Vermont, its nomadic heart beats across the US, offering both virtual and in-person collaboration to individuals and groups with a desire to tread the narrow strip of experience between sense and truth.
We explore themes centered in the memory, overlap, and translation of senses across creative thresholds: the intersection of neurodiversity, disability and environmentalism; the relationship of grief and wonder; lineage; and more.
We express ideas through forms rooted in a variety of visual, sonic, somatic, and theatrical mediums including: contemporary clowning, dance, soundscape, performance art, installation, silent physical storytelling, and improvisation.
Our work is rendered as live theatre performance across the country, and short films shared through YouTube, Vimeo, live screenings, and film festivals.
