Affordable spaces where artists may live and create together are the foundation for experimentation and invention, essential places for culture-shaping and movement-making. When artists are displaced and cannot find accessible housing and workspace, we are all adversely affected.
Who We Are:
Ivy Hill Arts is an interdisciplinary artist residency designed with, by, and for artists based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We seek to provide local artists with significantly subsidized studio and residential spaces to support the vibrant creative culture of our region.
What We Do:
Our purpose is to support the arts community of the San Francisco Bay Area with affordable live & work spaces and accessible programming. The creative community in our location has undergone tremendous shifts and displacement due to recent decades’ tech industry boom and real estate prospecting. We recognize that we play just one part in the larger arts ecosystem to address and remedy this problem, and we depend upon our collaboration with local artists, community members, and arts organizations.
Our Mission:
Ivy Hill Arts offers local artists of all disciplines the opportunity to advance their practices through subsidized accommodations, work spaces and studios, and engagement within the arts ecosystem of the San Francisco Bay Area.
How Your Donation Helps:
Accommodation and studio rentals is our largest expense. Ivy Hill Arts rents its space for artists to live and work together in one of the most expensive real estate markets in the country. Our fundraising goal of $20,000 would cover artists' live and work spaces for one month in our building's location in Oakland, California.
