The JUCCEE Cohort is an educational and workforce development program providing filmmakers, writers, actors, editors, and production professionals with hands-on training in the rapidly growing vertical storytelling industry. As audiences, technology, and distribution models evolve, the entertainment industry is entering a new era, but many independent creatives do not have access to the information, resources, or professional experience needed to participate in these emerging opportunities.
Through workshops, mentorship, and real-world production training, participants learn the unique skills required for vertical storytelling, including writing for digital audiences, producing efficient productions, directing within the vertical format, editing for engagement, and understanding new pathways for distribution. The program allows creatives to not only learn these concepts but apply them by developing and producing original projects alongside other artists and industry professionals.
At a time when traditional film and television opportunities have become increasingly limited, especially for local crew and independent artists, JUCCEE aims to create new pathways for creatives to continue building sustainable careers. We believe the future of entertainment should not only belong to those with existing access, resources, or industry connections. By sharing knowledge openly, we are creating a space rooted in collaboration and abundance, where emerging storytellers can gain the tools needed to compete and thrive.
The completed projects created through the cohort will showcase new voices, diverse perspectives, and innovative storytelling while providing participants with tangible experience, credits, and portfolio-building opportunities.
By removing barriers to education and investing directly in creatives, JUCCEE is helping strengthen Atlanta’s creative economy and positioning local storytellers to become leaders in the next wave of entertainment.
