As a writer, as well as a teaching artist working with young people, I have promoted literacy and creativity through comic books. During that time, I have met many other artists who share that goal. We know that comics are a perfect tool to bring literacy and fun to thousands of children. Many of us remember our own voracious appetite for reading comics, and we’ve learned from experience that today’s children are no different. This Kids’ Comic Con is a perfect vehicle to continue that effort.
