“Kinkakuji” is inspired by a seemingly inescapable paradox of human nature: the more beautiful something is, the more we want to possess, and ultimately, destroy it. Featuring dance, his evening-length work by Japanese choreographer Mio Ishikawa probes the intersection of dance and modern interpretation of the story as it explores ancient philosophical questions.
