La Casa de los Contrafuertes is an independent cultural center committed to exploring overlaps in the work and visions of artists from all disciplines, especially focusing on the cultural production
of the peoples of the Caribbean and their diasporas. Aiming to stimulate conversation and collaboration across practices and national borders, the overarching goal is to foster alternative ways of thinking the overlaps of art and society. To that end, the center is an active workspace, gallery and performance venue, as well as a community meeting point. Open to the public since 2012, it is a space that enables intellectual exchange and new modes of work in a geography where such opportunities are uncommon.
