About

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read about The Lawrence Community Photo Studio. Due to the Covid Pandemic we and other Arts groups are especially struggling to remain viable and open. We are a community focused photographic facility located in the heart of the Midwest, in beautiful Lawrence Kansas. We have created a place where the art of photography is passed on through classes and workshops and folks have the opportunity to learn this art form free of charge. We have a Studio with lights and backdrops, A full Darkroom and computers, printers and scanners. We put this facility together six years ago because there is no place for a photographer or especially a beginning photographer to have access to all of this equipment and material.
We also believe that you should be paid to teach but you should not have to pay to learn and that is why all of our classes and workshops are free. And because our schools in the area have stopped teaching this art form it has become a vital resource in the area for young people.
We rely the kind support from people like you to keep this community space operating and right now because of the Covid pandemic we are in need of your support even more! The Lawrence Community Photo Studio is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of The Lawrence Community Photo Studio must be made payable to “Fractured Atlas” only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law."
