Put the lights on our show!

About

Who is Leggy Riggs?
Leggy Riggs is set in iconic and scenic locations, she reflects the diversity of Los Angeles and moves from city rooftops, mountain overlooks, decadent hotel lobbies, street-side and desert getaways. Stylized in modern couture and the avant-garde, Leggy Riggs brings to the stage a cast of world class illusionists, burlesque dancers, drag queens, contortionists, object manipulators and aerial acrobats. With various levels of fancy to roughin' it - from dinner theater to circus in the park - each Leggy Riggs experience will highlight a local cafe, vinter, or brewery to celebrate the diverse and vibrant communities of Los Angeles.

What we need.

We are looking forward to Leggy Riggs' first season of pop-up shows in the Los Angeles area. We already have dates in West Hollywood Park (sponsored by the City of West Hollywood) on October 16th and Malibu Lake (with Blue Table) on November 28th. We are working towards filling out the rest of our 2021 tour with locations in South LA, Venice Beach, Angel's Point Overlook, El Sereno, Boyle Heights and the Santa Monica Pier. In preparation for this season we are seeking seed funding for the initial investment to stage our show - lighting, a solar generator and sound system, as well as, a tent to house our back stage. Additionally we are looking for long-term impact sponsorship to subsidize the permitting and insurance in each location and sponsorship to equitably pay our artists so that we may share Leggy Riggs to a larger audience in events free to the public.

How we will contribute.
In the arts and especially in the performing arts there is a terrible gap of access. The funding it takes to put on quality shows are either priced way outside of reach or strangling under budgets that can't support the creative aspirations. In Los Angeles the vast mileage has isolated neighborhoods from access just from the distance alone. And then there's the pandemic... being inside a traditional theater is still not ideal or trusted. Leggy Riggs alleviates many of these issues just by being outdoors and its portability. Leggy can move to any neighborhood and respond to the financial variance through a "buy art to give art" model by allocating some of the funds of a high dollar event to a sister event free or donation based. Pulling resources from city grants, corporate sponsorship and individual giving with event buy-outs and rentals, Leggy will be able to be to travel the wide distance between our diverse neighborhoods.
