On LET’S TANGO, Duo Cello e Basso invites listeners to experience some of the celebrated genre’s greatest masterpieces. Joined by pianist Victor Cayres, the centerpiece of the album is the duos’ arrangement of Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. The album includes Por una Cabeza and El Dia que me Quieras by famed 20th century tango composer Carlos Gardel. Emmanuel Feldman and Pascale Delache-Feldman perform a diverse repertoire from Mozart to Schnittke with over 20 commissions/premiers creating dynamic programming that inspires and energizes audiences.
Their Boston Celebrity Series debut featured Pulitzer Prize winner John Harbison’s “Deep Dances”. Other performances include the Kennedy Center, the Phillips Collection, and abroad at the Ferenc Liszt Academy, Budapest, Radio France and Altes Rathaus, Vienna among others.
As guest artists at the Pablo Casals, Yellow Barn and New Hampshire Music Festivals, they have collaborated additionally with Ballet RI, Borromeo and Lark string quartets. Their diverse programming combines contemporary and traditional works in inspiring collaborations with dancers, poets and descriptive narrative.
The duo leads master classes and residencies at schools/universities including the N.Y. Summer Music Festival and VCU. They teach at the Longy School of Music and Tufts University
Brazilian pianist Victor Cayres has earned praise for concerts with the Sine Nomine string quartet and as soloist with Boston Pops, Orchestre des Jeunes de Fribourg in Switzerland, and Brno Philharmonic in the Czech Republic.
He has been a guest artist at Banff (CA) and Interlochen Music Centers, Claflin and Western Washington Universities and Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Conservatory. His concerts include broadcasts at Brazil’s TV Cultura channel, WGBH Boston, and WFMT Chicago.
He has recorded for Albany, Centaur, Navona/Parma Records and performs in Brazil, Europe, and the U.S. including Carnegie Weill Hall, and Boston Symphony and Jordan Halls.
He is Associate Director for Boston University Tanglewood Institute’s Piano Program and is on the piano faculty at New England Conservatory
