About

Let Yourself Get Quiet is a live-action short film about a power outage that rattles a stimulus-addicted man into confronting his consciousness and discovering the tyrannical inner force that prefers him distracted and docile. I’m Nishanth Swarna, the writer/director of the film. Thank you for considering supporting it. I wanted to tell this story because, honestly, I need to let myself get quiet. In a world engineered to keep our attention, I’ve felt how easy it is to slip! To trade stillness for stimulation, awareness for comfort. The algorithm is good. Too good. It’s tempting to imagine some grand external revolution! To stick it to the man, uppercut the tech giants, topple the world order, and usher in a new era of freedom for humanity! However, that kind of thinking can become its own distraction. The harder thing is turning inward. If there is any real shift, it starts there. The film follows Brahma, a man pulled out of his cocoon of comfort and forced into confrontation with the part of himself that keeps him passive. Whether he overcomes it or is consumed by it is the question at the heart of the story. While the subject is psychological, the film leans into a surreal and expressive visual world filled with strange characters, moments of humor, and heightened, almost mythic encounters that bring the internal struggle to life. I’m working with a group of collaborators I trust. Artists who care about making something that resonates beyond the screen. With your support, we can bring this story to life and share it with audiences who may recognize something of themselves in it. At its core, this is a story about an ordinary person facing something deeply human, and being given a chance, however fleeting, to change.
