Dear friends,
Happy holidays!
I am writing to share a special invitation to support my upcoming water storytelling project, Marea, and receive a gift that, in its nature, is a result of my colorful artistic process.
My most recent public project,
A Lake Story, featured sustainably sourced silk color field paintings made with natural pigments sourced from the lake/shoreline in Toronto and activated by the wind. Vibrant color and the gesture of brushstrokes are prominently featured in many of my works including
Red Regatta, In the Waves, A Lake Story and now
Marea, my upcoming project being presented in Venice, Italy this spring, officially endorsed by UNESCO!
One work flows into another, like water, all connected.
With that in mind, I’m creating a very exclusive series of unique silk scarves made from my actual
color studies for A Lake Story. Each hand-made silk scarf features the extraordinary alchemical magic of naturally sourced color from yellow flower, wild rose, wild grape, buckthorn, willow, nettles, elderberry, olive, chicory, copper and more. Each one-of-a-kind piece pairs two complementing colors in a fluid silky scarf, and each is signed.
I am offering these to my nearest and dearest for this holiday season, in celebration of artistic process and my commitment to true authentic collaboration, focused on bringing community together in meaningful shared creative experiences and lasting positive impact.
I invite you to support this heart-led project with a tax-deductible donation and with gratitude for your generous support, I will send you your own unique and shimmering piece of the epic Lake Story, wrapped and accompanied by a personalized letter telling the story of its extraordinary natural colors and its Lake Story origins.
With love and heartfelt thanks and appreciation for your continued belief in my work,
Melissa
