I’m writing with a heartfelt invitation to support my upcoming water storytelling project, Marea. As a gesture of gratitude, your donation is accompanied by a one-of-a-kind gift that flows directly from my artistic process.
Marea is a collaborative community art project rooted in celebration and resilience, created in response to two urgent challenges facing Venice today: climate change and the unsustainable pressures of mass tourism. Marea offers an evocative and hopeful expression of collective vitality and creative resistance in this city of water that will be presented during the Venice Biennial this spring, officially endorsed by UNESCO and the Italian Ambassador to the United States.
Your financial support will carry Marea forward through the New Year when I will continue raising funds in the U.S. and Italy to stay on track for our spring launch, less than four months away. Funds are necessary now to cover immediate costs for the ongoing production of this independent collaborative community project.
In gratitude for your contribution to this project, I’ve created a very limited series of one-of-a-kind silk pieces made from my original color studies for A Lake Story. Each hand-made piece holds the alchemical magic of naturally sourced pigments including yellow flower, wild rose, wild grape, buckthorn, willow, nettles, elderberry, olive, chicory, copper, and more. Every piece is unique, fluid, and deeply connected to place.
This holiday season, I’m offering these works to my nearest and dearest in celebration of artistic process, authentic collaboration, and the power of shared creative experience.
