Though the primary subject of this film is the British-born writer and scholar, Jean Franco, who lived in Latin America post WWII, and who wrote about artists and writers she encountered at the height of the socio-political and artistic revolutionary movements there, it also explores the intersections of history that contextualized the period. A beloved Professor at both Stanford and Columbia Universities, Franco is interviewed here by a number of her former students, many of them Latinas, who are themselves illustrious Professors and who laud Jean Franco as a pioneer in the field and a powerful feminist mentor.
