Taking a new musical to the world's largest arts festival is an incredible opportunity, but it's also a significant financial undertaking. We need your help!

About the Project:

Little Pink Dress is a gay coming of age country/rock opera one-man musical traumedy, written and performed by Joey Jennings. A dazzling, dreamy and poignant musical narrative based on an original album of autobiographical songs, exploring his hilarious and turbulent experience navigating modern gay culture, generational trauma, addiction, and reconnecting with his younger self. From the sterile florescent lights of a casting office to the magical dreamscape of a country cruising bar, this musical odyssey is ultimately a deeply personal love letter to his mother, a farewell to his Toyota Corolla, and a re-discovery of the power of a long-lost little pink dress.

This project seeks to heal through the power of musical storytelling, featuring memorable, narrative-driven songs that explore the challenges of growing up LGBTQ+, pursuing a dream, coping with addiction, understanding generational trauma, and rediscovering the resilience and wonder of the inner child. While rooted in the experience of a gay child raised by a single mother, Little Pink Dress is ultimately a universal story. It is for anyone who has lost touch with their younger self through life's hardships and is searching for the courage to reconnect with themselves, embrace uncertainty, and move forward with authenticity and hope.

Our Goal:

We're raising $38,000 to cover the cost of travel and production for the entire Fringe Festival. Cost Breakdown below:

Venue Cost: $9,000
Travel & Housing: $10,000
Rehearsal Space: $1,500
Artist Fees: $9,500
Press/PR: $3,000
Marketing: $4,500
Misc: $500

As independent artists, we are building this from the ground up with no institutional/government support. Furthermore, the impact you make donating to an independent artist is huge compared to a large organization with a lot of overhead. By doing a crowdfund, we are empowering smaller donations and allowing more people to be a part of the project. We ask that you give what you can, and share the campaign with your friends and family!
