About
We are making a beautiful children's book. I wrote it (S. Todd Strader). The incredible Anne Yvonne Gilbert is illustrating it. And super cool Danny Nanos is doing the design work. We are raising money to produce the book. Proceeds from the sales of the book will go to saving red wolves from extinction.
A Story… This is our wolf friendly version of Little Red Riding Hood. Far from the typical wolf bad, girl good telling of this old folktale, this story weaves themes of family loyalty, bravery and mercy into a dramatic narrative with a happy ending.
A Primer… Special supplements explore the natural and historical context of the story. Readers will learn about the special military unit in which Ryding's father served during the French and Indian War. They will explore the ancient colonial forest dominated by giant oak and American chestnut trees. They will learn about the red wolf that once ranged across the East and South East of the United States and now is in danger of disappearing forever.
A Cause… The red wolf is a beautiful, uniquely American species of wolf. This truly family-oriented member of the animal kingdom is at the heart of our story and at the heart of the current debate about the place of animals in a human dominated world. As one of the most endangered of all species with a wild population of only less than 25 individuals, the red wolf is the poster child for not only endangered species but for respectful human animal cohabitation. Once published proceeds from the book will go to support red wolf education and recovery. And we will use it to inform and motivate new generations of wolf friends.

Your Donation Your donation will allow Yvonne to continue to create illustrations for the book and Danny to put his design talents to work for us. Currently we are in the process of making this beautiful book.
Since the finished book will not generate income we must publish independently. Thus the money needed to first make and then print the book will need to come from kind hearted visionaries such as yourself.
