Rory Michelle is developing Rising in Love, a catchy, singable musical in which interracial Jewish couple Rosie and Scott must overcome their deepest fears to make modern love work - while navigating the sometimes supportive, occasionally zany friends who want to influence their decisions. CREATOR
Rory Michelle Sullivan is a singer-songwriter, librettist-composer, and Jewish educator/prayer leader/facilitator who has recorded four studio albums and performed her songs internationally, from parlor rooms in Jerusalem to bars in Vienna to Jimmy’s No. 43 in the NYC’s East Village to the legendary folk venue Club Passim in Cambridge, MA. Rory Michelle’s Jewish music has been featured at festivals such as ish – Cincinnati’s Jewish and Israeli Arts and Cultural Festival and on the Emerging Artist Showcase on Jewish Rock Radio.
When not creating music and theatre, Rory Michelle leads Jewish communities in singing together. She holds a Bachelors in psychology from Harvard University and a Masters in Arts in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and studied for a semester full-time at Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. She loves living in Philadelphia, experimenting with new recipes, improv comedy, and eating veggies from community gardens.
