Lowkey Moxie is a TV studio of sorts, whose goal is to modernize the way we make and consume television by going back to the basics. As the traditional market experiences a contraction, the demand for original content remains at an all-time high. This dissonance leaves the industry primed for an indie revolution, similar to that of the late 90s and early 2000s.
Using Twitch as a self-distribution platform, we blend the classic, ad-supported TV model with real-time connection popularized by content creators and influencers to provide quality creator-driven scripted shows that bring back must-see TV by watching with our audience, chatting together, and building community.
Today's generation still loves stories; they just no longer want to be only spectators.
Drawing from our team's decades of experience in independent film, we produce half-hour and one-hour shows at a fraction of the cost of traditional broadcast and streaming shows. By keeping our budgets low, our writers have the freedom to make bold choices and take time to find the show's voice. Like the old Hollywood studio model, not every show needs to be an instant hit, but the ones that are keep the lights on while the others learn or pivot.
The System
Each show partners with brands that fit thematically. The shows are developed with organic advertising (aka product placement) in mind.
Episodes stream weekly on Twitch, with our team active in chat.
We host a post-show the following day to go behind the scenes on the production process, answer fan questions, and discuss the show. It's a mix of DVD commentary and post-show podcast, but with real-time conversation with the audience.
Known primarily for gaming, Twitch is available on most streaming devices (Apple TV, Chromecast, Smart TVs, gaming consoles, etc.) and in most countries. You can get comprehensive data and statistics in real time. Like YouTube, you can watch and share the show even without an account. Full videos and clips remain on our profile for as long as we want.
The Shows
This is a small taste of the type of shows we're making. We will make three shows in the first year and add at least one show per year after that.
Our costs are divided into two parts-- overhead operating costs and show budgets. This fiscal sponsorship and grants are used for operating costs so that all funds we receive from our brand partners can go directly into the show.
