Mad Beatz Philly's highly-skilled BIPOC educators provide HBCU-style drumline classes to middle schools across Philadelphia, helping students ages 10-14 develop the self-discipline, 21st century skills, and social / emotional competencies they need to build the positive identities and relationships needed to resist interpersonal violence and other self-harming behaviors. To address the teacher shortage in Philadelphia, Mad Beatz Philly's Emerging Teacher Training Program has mentored, employed, and supported more than 80 diverse young teachers in their pathways to careers in education, and launched the Apprentice-teacher Training Program to mentor high school students interested in teaching as well!
