Rare - Documentary Short Film
Rare is a layered exploration about the search for cures for rare diseases.  The focus is on To Cure a Rose Foundation and its founder Casey McPherson.  While the film tells the narrative story of Rose McPherson and Casey’s mission to find a cure for her rare disease, the larger layered narratives include exploration of why research on rare diseases is not financially viable and the nature of uniqueness and rarity.  The feelings around these concepts will collide in closing segment that connects emotionally in an essential way to every viewer.

Proceeds from Rare will benefit To Cure a Rose Foundation and the film will be an important part of telling the foundation’s story.

Moonshot Concert is a documentary feature film following a terminally-ill person and their family’s end of life celebration for their loved one centered around an in-home musical concert.  The story expands to include many related topics on aging, hospice care, and dying in America.

The film follows social media medical influencer J Mack Slaughter, MD as he works to produce an end of life celebration with a Moonshot Concert... a dream concert for the family and friends of terminally ill patient. Through the process, social media medical influencers Tiffany Moon, MD, Bayo Curry-Winchell, MD, Sanjay Juneja, MD and hospice professional Ryan Shaw examine the personal and cultural impacts of dying in America.   Moonshot Concert examines how we die in America, how we treat the aging and how to die right in America.

Abundant - Documentary Feature Film in Theatrical and Streaming Release

Abundant is a documentary film about giving, scarcity and abundance.  The film features non-directed living kidney donors: people who donate kidneys to complete strangers. They are our society’s most extreme altruists.  Their stories are explored more deeply through interviews with national- and internationally recognized experts including Nobel Prize Laureate Alvin Roth, PhD, Abigail Marsh, PhD and Ned Brooks, Founder of The National Kidney Donation Organization.

 

Abundant is in distribution and premiered in Hollywood in March, 2025.  This world premiere at the Director’s Guild of America Theater kicked off a national theatrical tour of screening events.
