Margi v. Alien is a tween sci-fi film that is a duel between a Black eleven year old girl and an alien. The protagonist, Margi, dreams of becoming a punk rock guitarist, like Willow Smith, but lacks the confidence. Her luck turns when she makes an astronomical discovery that there is a creature residing in her music teacher’s classroom closet and is determined to make her school its lunch. This new war serves as a gateway for Margi to make friends at her new school as three of her classmates become allies in her pursuit of survival.
