Help us bring McMusical to life — It's a sharp, hilarious musical satire about fast food and capitalism. We are raising $15,000 to fund a three-night developmental production run in New York City in September 2026.
Plot Overview: From the creators of Garfield: The Musical (A Garfield Parody) comes a brand-new, unhinged satirical romp: McMusical. Randy McDandy, the washed-up clown mascot of the fast-food empire McDandys, bites off more than he can chew when he takes over one of his restaurants in the perilous streets of Slumsville. He’s shocked to find that his once-bright, joyful restaurant has been transformed into a cold, corporate shell, stripped of all its charm. Determined to restore McDandys to its former glory, Randy must battle cynical corporate overlords and a world that now finds clowns terrifying rather than wholesome. Along the way, he encounters a parade of outrageous friends and foes, including the villainous Robber-Burger and his sidekick Dandy Boy, Pingas (the big purple narrator), Amber and Donovere (mopey teenage
employees), Fran (the beleaguered manager and Randy’s love interest), and more. It’s a ridiculous, high-energy parody served with unexpected heart and earnestness.

Why this Project— Why Now? While McMusical is an absurd and ridiculous parody, the satire has real bite, offering surprisingly resonant commentary for our times. The show uses a familiar fast-
food mascot and his fallen empire to explore America’s cultural loss of innocence, the disappearance of public spaces geared towards children, and the pitfalls of corporate culture. McDandys’ fall from a vibrant, playful environment to a cold, impersonal husk will strike anyone who remembers the joy of their childhood spaces and lament how few remain today. Similarly, the musical examines how the image of the clown has shifted, from a wholesome, joyful figure to a frightening archetype, reflecting a broader cultural scarcity of figures designed to inspire wonder rather than horror. Above all, McMusical delivers a message of hope: That
even in a world dominated by corrupt systems and overwhelming forces of evil, small acts of goodness matter. While one person cannot topple oppressive institutions alone, thoughtful action and kindness can make the world a little brighter. Courage, compassion, and care can spark change, proving that creating a better world begins in small, meaningful ways.
