Melissa Nussbaum Freeman’s artist´s practice is amoebic taking on all kinds of shapes- drawn in by the magnetic pull of inspiring acts of courage and artistry, zero tolerance for injustice, a passion for life and most living creatures -it is revealed in all things theatrical.
Melissa, a native New Yorker, trained in EngIand as an acupuncturist and in Mexico as a mother, midwife and performer. She relocated to Boston in 2014 where she currently lives, creates and agitates. Her craft embodies healing, education, activism and all things theatrical as a queer playwright, bi-lingual actor, improvisational storyteller, director and teaching artist. The lines between her artistry and activism are not drawn and embrace the public and the process. She is often surprised by how much she actually produces.
