Mexamorphosis is an interdisciplinary celebration of musical diversity from different centuries and cultures as well as Mexican art forms and traditions, emphasizing vocal music and Mexican Son Jarocho music from Veracruz.
Performances will include dance and video as well as plastic arts, all for the purpose of suggesting relationships between styles and song texts, inviting and including a community of different genres and disciplines into the same performances to establish cultural bridges, while giving voice to different (and sometimes unknown) music styles and disciplines at the highest level of interpretation.
