We're Michael Biello & Dan Martin and we've been creating, as well as living and loving together, for the past 44 years. We've chosen 20 of our original songs to document and celebrate our life and work from when we met in 1975 to the present. We've invited some of the great Broadway and Off-Broadway performers we've worked with over the years to star in short musical films of each song.

During Phase 1 of the project (October/November 2018), we filmed 12 songs, featuring Annie Golden, Javier Muñoz, Sheri Sanders, Austin Ku, Billy Bustamante, Nicole Van Giesen, Howie Michael Smith, Jillian Louis, Brandon Haagenson, Donnie Hammond & Jesse Manocherian. Since then, we've been editing the films, creating our Amazing Queer Songbook Website, and making short VLOGS to accompany each song. So far we've edited & released 6 films.

The $18,000 we raised in Phase 1 funded the initial filming - including performer and crew stipends, venue and equipment rentals, the design and launch of our new website, and the video and audio editing of the first 6 films. The budget was extremely lean for such an ambitious project, and we're proud that the website, and the first group of films we've released, look and sound like they were funded at a much higher level. We're seeking $6000. to complete the editing and release of the next 6 films.

We've created a variety of giving levels and rewards including special thanks on our Amazing Queer Songbook website, copies of lyrics and lead sheets of your choice, handmade Biello ceramic wall pieces, and invitations to a live performance of our SONGBOOK, sung by Dan.

Michael & Dan's Amazing Queer Songbook is a legacy project for us, an act of creation and love. A way for our songs and our history to be shared, known, and live on past us. It's our uniquely personal story of collaboration and love, in a world that we, and many others, believe could use more collaboration and love.
