MOMI FILMS NY is an independent full service production company based in NYC, currently working on developing two short films: "A Fare Ride" and "Loons".
Description of Projects:
"A Fare Ride":
Directed by Miguel de Oliveira and adapted for the screen from a play, "A Fare Ride“ is a short film that follows Jessy Ramirez, a street-smart, tough, NYC Uber driver, when she picks-up a robber who tries to use her as a getaway car. Will he be able to outsmart Jessy and get what he wants or will she get the upper hand? We're currently in pre-production and principal photography is slated to take place in mid February, 2020. Our cast includes SAG-nominated actor Jacob A. Ware (TV appearances include "Gotham", "Law & Order: SVU, "Shades of Blue", "Blue Bloods", "Boardwalk Empire" ) and Monica Vilela (co-founder, producer, MOMI Films).
"Loons“:
Also directed by Miguel de Oliveira and adapted from a play by Bradley Hayward, "Loons“ is a short film and a portrait of an elderly couple's life, as they wait for the arrival of the migrating loons by a peaceful lake. It is a universal, touching story about love and death.
Both short films will be shot independently in New York by our company.
