Moving Rasa is an anti-racist organization dedicated to the access of playful consciousness practices and reflection through movement improvisation. It is for all people across ability, age, gender and sexuality. Moving Rasa specifically centers people of the Global Majority to cultivate our personal and collective agency to confront White supremacy and co-create a better world together with white conscious people. Moving Rasa interweaves indigenous Indonesian philosophy to invite all participants to investigate their culturally specific as we collective find Unity in Diversity.
We foster community and embodied reflection through affinity classes, practice groups, public jams, in-services, collaborative projects, performance, and residencies.
In addition to dance in the space, Moving Rasa uses the exploration of sharing weight and momentum with others and objects to push the boundaries of negotiating our internal and external environments. At the heart of Moving Rasa is connecting the art of living an engaged and conscious life with a responsiveness to the relationships and systems we find ourselves in.
