About

"All hell breaks loose at Gustavo and Ursula's family-owned Italian restaurant when the staff ends the night with a body on their hands. Fingers are pointed, secrets are revealed, and chaos ensues... all before the breadsticks arrive!"

The time has finally come for me to bring the final project from my NYU education to life! In March of 2020, after nearly a year of writing and planning, production on my thesis film was sadly halted due to the pandemic. I was able to graduate with the work I had done on the project already and safely retreat to my home in Philadelphia with dreams of someday bringing this film to life. And now, after several years, I am ready to bring my project to life on the screen… with your help!

Though Fractured Atlas, all contributions are tax deductible as charitable donations!

Why this project?

In addition to being darkly comedic, the film is, at its heart, about the myriad of ways we cope, and ultimately persevere, in the face of tragedy and betrayal. This is the perfect theme to explore through the lens of a murder mystery because it gives us a chance to view people right at the heart of a tragedy, each with their own agendas and deceptions. Where do these people end up after such an impactful emotional experience? Have they grown? Have they come together? Or have they dug deeper into their duplicitous ways?

And on top of that… murder mysteries are a blast! “Murder on the Menu” aims to be a fun time at the movies.

Budget Breakdown, Funding Opportunities, and Benefits:

Unfortunately, movies are expensive to make. Fortunately, NYU is providing much of the necessary filmmaking equipment, but there are many additional costs outside of that.

I need to raise a total of $25,000 to cover production expenses. This includes the costs of the location, additional equipment, production design, transportation, and meals and housing for cast and crew.

All contributions are tax deductible! It may also be worth checking to see if your employer offers gift matching for charitable donations.

Any amount helps, but I have included tiers with specific rewards.

Timeline:

With most of the pre-production already finished, I am planning to shoot “Murder on the Menu” before the end of this year and have it finished and ready to submit to film festivals by the middle of next year.

Thank you for considering donating to “Murder on the Menu”! Please feel free to share this with other people you know who may be interested in supporting the arts and independent filmmaking!
