MUSICWORKS presents interactive arts presentations and concerts to student groups and music audiences of a wide variety of ages and interests. Programs are offered in 3 general categories:
(1) curriculum based workshops customized to the ages, abilities, and sizes of student groups (e.g. introduction to improvising and creative instruments, storytelling through music, elements of creative composition, comparative music history and trends in popular music, understanding world cultures, community and tolerance through) music)
(2) Concerts and discussions involving creative enselbles developing relevant modern repetoire (children, adults, community groups)
(3) Teaching artist / performance residencies which work with students regularly over extended periods of time (founding and expansion of Jazz Seminar, Brass Band del Ecuador, composition seminar with non-instrumentalists at Children's Village residential facility for at-risk youth)
