Mutt Art Review started with the idea that writing on art in New York could be sharper, riskier, and more alive than most publications allow. We print incisive criticism alongside essays, fiction, and experiments — writing that aspires to be a literary work in its own right. Because no single perspective can fully account for an artwork, or the art world at large, we encourage debate and a range of opinions. Previous issues have featured writing by John Yau, Svetlana Alpers, Bob Nickas, Darla Migan, William Corwin, Lucy Ives, Kayode Ojo, and artwork by Ted Joans, Janine Iversen, and Till Megerle.
