My Mind Is Made Up is a theatrical re-enactment of documentary filmmaker Katie Hyde's experience with crippling anxiety over the state of the world.
School shootings? Pollution? The climate catastrophe? All the politics, all the greed, all the reckless drivers, stranger danger, and the flames retardants in her furniture? How can she raise her children in a world that’s actively trying to kill her family? But when Katie stumbles into a meditation studio one day, she is so desperate for relief that she takes a leap of faith and enters the last place on earth she wants to be: inside her own mind. What she uncovers in there is exactly what her mind is made of and it’s not the feel-good enlightenment that she was hoping for - it’s a gnarly fight to the death with what she has believed is true about the world. My Mind is Made Up is the story of one woman’s fight for her own sanity in a world that is constantly presenting itself as an existential threat.
Who says that enlightenment (or... just a little peace if mind?) is reserved only for monks on mountain tops? My Mind is Made Up hopes to start a movement of #MomsWhoMeditate because its moms who are in the trenches and it's moms who can reshape the future.
