About

Please help us get our very special film out to the communities who need it!

“Compassion brings us to a stop, and for a moment we rise above ourselves.” —Mason Cooley
My Story Films® is an independent film company dedicated to shedding light and spreading compassion by telling the stories of people struggling quietly, and often in the dark, with physical, mental, emotional and socio-economic issues. It is our goal to produce both documentaries and fictional films that give voice to those individuals, families, and communities faced with these very challenging journeys. Our ultimate hope is that people will learn from our films and will take comfort in realizing that they are not alone; that their story is our story.

My Story of Alzheimer’s Disease
Our first project, the short documentary My Story of Alzheimer's Disease, tells the story of Alzheimer’s Disease through the eyes of 5 caregivers as well as a psychiatrist who specializes in treating the Disease. The caregivers in the film are from diverse backgrounds; emphasizing that this disease can happen to anyone.

Our caregivers talk about the fear, heartbreak and isolation that are part of caring for their loved ones who suffer from a disease that is still so misunderstood by many people; but mostly about the love that underlines their journey and that gives them the strength to go on with meaning and purpose, even after their loved one has passed.

We hope this poignant account of love and loss will raise awareness about Alzheimer’s caregivers as well as give comfort and support to anyone who has cared for a loved one with any type of illness or issue.
