About

Nadia Sirota is a violist, conductor, educator, and Peabody Award-winning producer and broadcaster. In all branches of her artistic life, she aims to introduce classical music to a broader audience.

As a soloist, Ms. Sirota has appeared with orchestras around the world, and she has released four albums of commissioned music. Her singular sound and expressive execution have served as muse to dozens of composers, including Nico Muhly, Missy Mazzoli, Marcos Balter, Meredith Monk, and David Lang. She has also performed on recording and concert projects by such popular artists as Paul Simon, David Bowie and Björk. 

Highlights of Ms. Sirota’s 2022-2023 season include duo performances in Europe and the US with harpist Lavinia Meijer, and the world premiere of Viola Saga, a viola concerto written for her by composer Joe Hisaishi, at Carnegie Hall, Tokyo’s Kioi Hall, and with the Singapore Symphony.

Ms. Sirota is a member of acclaimed chamber sextet yMusic, and is co-founder of Eclipse Projects, an independent arts manager and creative producer based in Los Angeles. She is also a member of Bedroom Community, a collective of musically diverse artists who work and collaborate at Reykjavik’s Greenhouse Studios. She currently serves as Creative Associate at The Juilliard School and Artist-in-Residence at UCLA’s Center for the Art of Performance.

Ms. Sirota won a Peabody Award for her podcast Meet the Composer. She also received the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award for her work in radio, and Southern Methodist University’s Meadows Prize, awarded to pioneering artists and scholars with an emerging international profile. Nadia received her undergraduate and Master’s degrees from the Juilliard School, where she studied with Heidi Castleman, Misha Amory, and Hsin-Yun Huang.
