We're raising funds to support the production of two new plays developed by Nice Enough Productions — bold, darkly funny, and uncomfortably honest works about survival, memory, and the mess of being human.
TENNER BAG is a brutal and darkly funny new play about family, violence, and survival in a town on the brink. Set in post-riot Teesside, it follows the fallout of a fractured family forced back together after a funeral. There are no clean exits — only what you’re willing to carry.
BOOK CLUB follows five women gathering for what’s supposed to be a calm night of literary discussion. But between the charcuterie board, half-drunk wine, and long-buried resentments, the evening unravels into chaos. It’s not about the book. It never was.
These plays explore how environments shape us, how grief and history linger, and what happens when we’re forced to reckon with the selves we’ve been avoiding — or performing — for too long.
With your help, we’ll be able to fund:
Artist fees for cast, crew, and creative team
Rehearsal and venue rentals
Set, lighting, sound, and costume design
Accessibility services (captions, programs, etc.)
Workshops, development time, and audience outreach
This isn’t theatre that asks for permission. It’s scrappy, sharp, character-driven work that sits in the discomfort — and tells the truth, whether or not it makes anyone look good.
If you believe in making space for stories that are messy, angry, tender, and honest —
we’d love your support.
