About

No Place Press supports critical and challenging perspectives on a wide range of contemporary and historical cultural subjects. Connected by a shared critical mindset more than a specific discipline, we work with artists, art historians, poets, designers, and writers to realize projects that may fall outside the scope of the typical channels of reception and distribution associated with their respective fields.

In December 2025, we will release the first of a three-volume series of the collected writings of philosopher Jalal Toufic. We are also working on projects with Arnold Kemp (to be released in Fall 2026), Eduardo Cadava, Bettina Funcke, Andrea Fraser, Rochelle Goldberg, Tiffany Sia, Zeena Parkins and Ryan Ross Smith.

In 2023 and 2024, we released The Effect of Tropical Light of White Men by Catherine Lord (named one the "best art books of 2023" by the New York Times); Exit Interview by Benjamin Buchloh and Hal Foster; and The New Television with thirty contributors reflecting on video art and the status of video and television today.

Since its inception in 2019 we have published such titles as A Frank O’Hara Notebook by Bill Berkson, The Glen Park Library by Pamela M. Lee, Revisions by Yvonne Rainer, and An Oblique Autobiography by Yve-Alain Bois. Our titles have been reviewed in Artforum, Art in America, Art News, The Guardian, London Review of Books, Texte zur Kunst, and The Wall Street Journal, among others. No Place Press is distributed by the MIT Press.
