NOISE is a 10-minute horror short that explores ambition and the cost of success through the lens of Asian-American music producers, inspired by my own experiences as an Asian-American woman working behind the scenes in the music industry. By centering AAPI leads and shifting the spotlight from pop stars to the often-overlooked producers who shape the sound of modern music, NOISE reclaims space in a field that has always been filled with diverse and talented creatives, yet rarely acknowledges our contributions. At its core, NOISE is driven by innovation—where sound isn’t just atmosphere, but a vital narrative engine that pushes genre boundaries while revealing the emotional and psychological toll marginalized creatives face, chasing success in an industry that was never designed with them in mind.
