Northbound Arts

I am a baritone, educator, and creative producer based in Cincinnati, where I serve on the voice faculty at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). My work as a performer has taken me to major opera houses and concert stages internationally, and alongside that work I am increasingly focused on creating new models for how vocal music can connect with contemporary audiences.

My artistic practice centers on reimagining where and how classical music is experienced. I am particularly interested in site-specific and interdisciplinary performance that brings music into nontraditional environments, inviting audiences to encounter it in more immediate, accessible, and unexpected ways. Through this work, I aim to expand access to the art form while fostering deeper emotional and cultural connections between performers, audiences, and place.

A current area of focus is the development of a collaborative performance series in partnership with the Cincinnati Zoo, integrating live vocal music into the visitor experience to support engagement with wildlife conservation. By pairing music with environment and storytelling, this project explores how the expressive power of the human voice can deepen public connection to the natural world.

My work also includes collaborations with composers and artists across disciplines, with an emphasis on projects that challenge traditional concert formats and encourage new modes of listening and participation. Across all of these initiatives, my goal is to create performances that are both artistically rigorous and broadly accessible, while positioning music as a vital part of civic and cultural life.

I regularly collaborate with CCM students and emerging artists, providing them with opportunities to perform in dynamic, real-world contexts that extend beyond the traditional stage. These experiences are designed to prepare the next generation of singers to engage creatively with evolving audiences and performance environments.
