My premise, and that of many other “people of the heart” i.e. Joanna Macy, Jane Goodall, Phillip Deere, Aurora Linnea, etc., is that early on, humans were intimately connected with the Earth. Over the centuries this connection ruptured to the point that humans are not only violating one another, but also the very planet we live on.
The current climate crisis reflects this problem. The focus of On Behalf of Mother Earth is to support efforts that seek, especially through artistic endeavors, to meaningfully reconnect humans with Mother Earth and one another.
1) We support creative works, such as books, articles, visual art, performances, films and other modalities to convey the importance of connecting with Mother Earth.
2) We support the work of writers, musicians, photographers, filmmakers, painters, poets and other artists (such as preparation for shows of work) that convey this message of care.
3) Additionally, we have the goal of supporting such artists via artist residencies for those wishing to devote themselves to creating awareness and eliciting involvement with the climate crisis. We are committed to reconnecting with Mother Earth for humanity to have a chance at surviving.
